Barbara has been an animal lover since birth, in fact she can not remember a time when she wasn't surrounded by animals. Raised in Colorado, she had dogs, cats, & horses as well as cows, chickens, goats, rabbits, etc. But in wasn't until her daughter, Jennifer, bought a pure-bred American Eskimo Dog, that the family was introduced to dog showing.
Raising and showing their "Eskies" quickly became a family endeavor. Wanting to purchase gift items of American Eskimos, but not being able to find much of quality, Barbara and her husband, Morris, looked into ways of using their own photographs on tiles and mugs. It quickly became a weekend business as they found other dog show folk who wanted gift items featuring their dogs.
However, Barb found that so many of these people just didn't have good quality photos of their dogs, so she started doing the photography for the gift items herself. Her portrait work soon became so sought after, that the gift side of the business has now become but a small part of the business.
Her commissions now hang in many homes, veterinarian offices, grooming salons and pet boutiques and most recently on a line of paint products by Mad Dog Primers.
Barbara has entered the International Exhibition of Photography in Del Mar, CA each year since 2005, and has had her work selected to hang and has even won awards in her division every year.
She is a member of PPA, Professional Photographers of America, WICP, Women In Creative Photography and NAPP, National Association of Photoshop Professionals.
